Coincidence! I forgot to stop listening to it!

Awesome song man. might sound nice if you added a... 'swing'? I think that word works... well, it might sound nice to add a portion of 'offbeat' strings. There might be already, they aren't quite the main focus of the song anyways.

really good!

Alloud responds:

I hear you. That probably would sound nice, I still need to get my hands on some nice virtual stringed instruments, I might incorporate something like you said in a practice song once I do get some more instruments d: Thanks!

hmm...

I think the artists opinion of their work is the most accurate judgment of it's worth. Or at least in negative terms... If the artist doesn't believe it'll be successful, but still put's it up, it's kind of a sign the artists didn't really care...

At the very least, it's best not to mention what you think others will think of it, it will affect their opinion.

As for the song,
definitely too much distortion on the start. I'm not one to talk, but the first few bars sets the pace for the song, and I found it so 'crackly' I couldn't tell what was going on.

I've been told I give good advice, but I can never follow it myself... ~_~
Hope I helped somewhat...

You're an idiot. It's like if a Native American put up his new pan flute song on NG. He'd pretty much be sure that it wouldn't do well, but it's still a great song to him. This is my pan flute music.

And your second statement "it's best not to mention what you think others will think of it, it will affect their opinion" doesn't make sense to me because if that's true then everyone would love Kanye West music.

Sorry, but I feel like your username fits you quite well.

Lol

this song deserves the front page just for your commentary!

ganon95 responds:

glad ya like it :)

You should know this. T_T

Um, music is not far from video, in that the audience has an attention span of about three seconds. In video, Directors avoid showing the same shot for more than 3 seconds or the person will look away. It's basically the same with music, where if you have the same 4 bars of music playing over and over, no matter how beautiful it is, it the listener will stop listening. I'm not sure what the limit is, I'd say repeat no more than 4X.

Try it out, add something in to break the pattern.

thanks, i was actually thinking about how repetitive it really was this morning when i was listening, i was thinking about adding another melody or something.
thanks for the input.

Gamu?

this would be pretty cool, as long as it matches! What's the game idea, or is it out?

DuttonsaysHi responds:

Thanks for the review! and sadly it's not out, he decided not to go through with it because well.. he's lazy. It was going to be a side-scroller bullet hell thing, and the idea involved the first level having a cloud and floating island concept so I just composed this to see if he liked it. I showed him it and he never made anything..

cool

I don't know how to say it, but the sounds are too, like, strong or something... sharp? basically all the different instrument parts are competing for the lead. if the main tune is sharp and the accompaniment is soft, less attack, then there might be less jumble.

Good job none the less!

Raymoclaus responds:

I would have reduced the accompaniment a bit but I don't know how, when I figure out how then I will change it. thanks for the constructive review.

not bad

It might be better if you raise the volume of everything other than the drums.

JakobePaulobe responds:

I appreciate the feedback. The drums are very loud in this piece on purpose for emphasis. If you feel that it would improve the quality of it I could lower the volume of the drums.

'Twas good

It was good, I'll give you that. But, I find you aren't making songs like you you used to. Like "Devastation" or "Silver Memory", those are the songs I fell in love with. They always had the calm story being told and then it would break out for 10 seconds of epic-ness. I'd love to hear that again, maybe you didn't notice the change, but I did! ( Y~Y)

hania responds:

Hey ! I know what you're talking about - I have made more like that, but just haven't uploaded them to NG AP. I will one day though. I'll let you know when I do. :)

Darn

Don't get me wrong, it was great, but I wished you used the clip from monty python of John Cleese saying "and now for something completely different..." Would have liked it alot more...

dj-Nate responds:

That was my initial idea but using the original sound clip wasn't that.. different, I guess. Quite overused as well.

Just my opinion

Nice

Im always a sucker for piano and computer combos. Any song that can keep my attention though he whole thing deserves an A+. A ilttle abrupt at the end but I do that alot too. Could be a little more epic, but I can't tell you how.
Nice to hear real composition on NG every once and a while!
